T200: Breaking Barriers – Women in IT Leadership

A nonprofit organization is working to help more women become leaders in the tech industry. Their goal is to support at least 200 women in reaching top executive positions. They do this by offering mentorship, training, and networking opportunities. Through the Tech4Good program, we met four inspiring women who are growing in their careers with help from this initiative.

Technology is always changing, and companies need strong leaders who can keep up. Many nonprofit groups are helping by providing mentorship, education, and career support for women who want to move into executive roles.

Tech4Good is a program connected to the Tech Whisperers podcast. Every podcast guest gets to choose a nonprofit that will receive a scholarship for one of its members. So far, more than $400,000 in scholarships have been given to organizations like Girls Who Code, NPower, YearUp, and T200. These programs help women in tech get the support they need to advance their careers.

T200 was created to help at least 200 women become top leaders in tech. Mamatha Chamarthi, a co-founder and Chief Digital Officer at Goodyear, explains that their mission has grown to support women at all career levels. They launched T200Lift to offer mentorship, networking, and professional development. This helps women learn, connect, and move forward in their careers.

We spoke with four amazing women who received TechLX scholarships through T200. They shared how mentorship and training have shaped their careers:

These women and also many others benefit from this program, Mentorship is a key part of T200’s approach. Many participants look up to industry leaders like Deepa Soni from The Hartford and Sabina Ewing from Abbott. These role models show how to balance strategy, innovation, and people-focused leadership.

Having a network of peers has also been a game-changer for these women. Many continue to meet regularly with their groups to share ideas and talk about challenges. They describe it as having a “”board of directors”” outside of their company—a support system that helps them see the bigger picture and solve problems in new ways.

The tech industry is growing fast, and leadership roles are evolving. AI and digital transformation are providing new opportunities and challenges. The women in T200 are preparing for the future by learning how to balance innovation by smart decision-making. They know that to be great leaders, they need to understand the business, make informed choices, and communicate their vision effectively.
