BlackCarrot, a young Indian startup aiming to revolutionize the way health-conscious consumers engage with everyday dining, has successfully closed its pre-seed funding round. Positioned as India’s first mass-premium dinnerware brand focused on wellness, the company is tapping into a growing demand for products that are both functional and health-forward.

The round was led by Venture Catalysts, one of India’s most prominent integrated incubator and accelerator platforms. The investment signals confidence in BlackCarrot’s mission to fuse design, sustainability, and health into one cohesive product line—an idea that resonates deeply with today’s urban, mindful consumer.

The funding round also drew support from a strong mix of institutional and angel investors. We Founder Circle, EvolveX Accelerator, GX Ventures, and Suraj Nalin, Co-Founder of PlaySimple Games, all joined the cap table, bringing with them not only capital but also valuable operational and strategic expertise. Their participation reflects a belief in the potential of BlackCarrot to carve out a niche in a traditionally commoditized industry by elevating dinnerware into a wellness category.

Adding to the brand’s visibility and cultural appeal, celebrity investor Neha Dhupia, who made her first investment in the company in April 2024, has increased her stake. She is joined by Agnello Dias, the former Chief Creative Officer of JWT, whose involvement adds further creative heft to BlackCarrot’s vision. Their backing underscores the blend of mainstream credibility and aspirational positioning that the brand is aiming for.

With the fresh capital, BlackCarrot plans to scale its product line, strengthen its supply chain, and deepen its connection with a growing base of consumers who are seeking products that align with a holistic, health-conscious lifestyle. As more Indians become aware of the materials they consume from—not just what they consume—BlackCarrot is placing itself at the heart of this cultural and culinary shift.
