It is clear that businesses are focusing on saving money and efficient work with the help of AI. However, there is a different angle in how companies see AI. On one hand, they believe with the help of AI the employee will be more productive. On the other hand they think that it will replace them. According to Cheney Hamilton, a research analyst at Bloor Research and CEO of Find Your Flex Group, this short-term way of thinking could backfire. Companies could lose high talent, face controversy of employees, and even run into legal or ethical issues.

She suggests that IT leaders should see AI as a cost saving model. While using AI to improve productivity is useful, stopping there means missing out on AI’s full potential. AI isn’t just about doing the same work faster—its about the way to change the work environment.

Some companies start using AI in simple ways, like helping employees work more efficiently and improving customer support.. AI can also help employees be more productive. For example, sales teams can use AI-powered tools to research customers before contacting them. This not only helps them but also saves time and helps them to improve their thinking in a new way.
The survey also shows that IT leaders don’t agree to pay a high amount for AI. Many IT leaders are worried about unpredictable costs, which do not allow them to shift in a fully fledged way to it AI.

Experts have different opinions on whether AI should come with an additional cost. Hamilton warns that AI isn’t just another software feature—Iits a big evolution in working industries She advises businesses to be ready to pay for AI solutions that truly help them instead of expecting AI to be added for free.

Many IT vendors charge extra for AI to recover their investments and ensure ethical and responsible use. AI tools need a daily basis monitoring for effective uses, according to Kathryn Wifvat, a data science professor and founder of EdTech company Nuubi. While some AI features are available free of cost some need charges. However, since AI helps employees work faster and smarter, businesses will get a return on their investment.

On the other hand, Richards believes IT vendors will not be able to compete in the market if they charge extra for AI I. while AI features are high cost but it’ll be reduced over time. Additionally it will be a standard part of IT solutions without additional charges. Companies building AI will need to find ways to make it more affordable.

The Foundry survey reveals that 95% of IT leaders are increasing their use of AI, and almost 90% have already invested in it . More than half plan to increase investment on AI infrastructure, although that’s slightly lower than last year’s numbers.

However, implementation of AI is not easy. About 98% of IT leaders stated that they are facing issues for adoption of AI. Some of the biggest issues are lack of in-house expertise, difficulty proving AI’s value to the business, and competing priorities.

With all these obstacles still AI is becoming a key part of business strategy. Companies that see AI as more than just a way to cut costs will benefit the most from its potential. The real opportunity of using AI is to create new ways of working, drive innovation, and improve overall business growth.
